The Youth Forum on Traditional Values and Peace, co-organized by the Korean National Commission for UNESCO, the Korean Studies Institute and Gyeonsangbukdo Province, took place from 19 to 23 August in Andong, Republic of Korea. The aims of the forum were to revisit the commonalities and meaning of Confucianism in a variety of East Asian countries today, and to discuss how these could be applied to the core values of global citizenship to build a peaceful future. More than 40 young participants from Korea, China, Japan and Vietnam attended the meeting. All of the participants were recommended by their National Commissions for UNESCO.
